Fox TV: Chicago High School for the Arts (ChiArts) is Chicago’s first and only public high school offering pre-professional arts training. ChiArts seeks to remove tuition and other barriers that exist for Chicago’s youth and create a space for them to develop their talent, hone their skills, and thrive as creators, thinkers, and community members. With equity being central to ChiArts’ mission, ChiArts prides itself in its novice mission to accept students with little to no formal music training. In this full Zoom segment, ChiArts scholar artist Raina Wiley talks about how ChiArts Connections Week gives her and other students the tools and resources for post-grad life, and she shares her experience as a novice student in the dance department at ChiArts.
