Wines of Portugal Producer Showcase 2015: Wednesday, Oct. 14, 6-8:30pm ($60)
Wines of Portugal hosts a grand tasting of more than 200 Portuguese wines. Guests will experience the extensive range of Portugal’s wines, from the dry reds of Bairrada to the delicious whites from Vinho Verde, from historied cuvees of the Setúbal-Palmela and Lisbon regions to the progressive offerings from the Douro. Wines of South America Wine Dinner with Master Sommelier Evan Goldstein: Wednesday, Oct. 21 ($95/$120)
With a focus on quality and expressiveness, South American wines have become more refined and distinctive, rivaling the best wines of other regions around the globe. City Winery hosts an exclusive three-course dinner celebrating the wine and cuisine of South America with author Evan Goldstein, a master sommelier and James Beard Award nominee. Renowned by sommeliers as well as wine and food lovers for his expertise and breadth of knowledge in wine and food, Goldstein will guide guests through Argentina, Brazil and Chile, exploring the wines, grapes, geography, history and cuisine of these countries. Goldstein is the author of best-sellers Perfect Pairings: A Master Sommelier’s Practical Advice for Partnering Wine with Food and Daring Pairings: A Master Sommelier Matches Distinctive Wines with Recipes from His Favorite Chefs. $120 ticket includes Goldstein’s book, Wines of South America.
